Lisa: A chaotic start at Stanstead, but arriving in Porto has been a blast. After nearly having to pitch a tent in the Information office, we finally found a bed, slowly making our way through steep narrow streets and across a crazy massive bridge to the perfect air b n b overlooking Porto. Super kind helpful Portuguese, beautiful buzzing city full of life and color. Looking forward to an early start tomorrow.
HELEN: after an early start for us both in London, we successfully met up at Stansted and flew over to Porto, Portugal. The flight offered fabulous views of the coastline and a glimpse of what we can expect on our journey.
Porto is a bustling township with plenty of stunning architecture and enormously hilly topography. We were given an induction by fire into Porto’s hills as we made our way downwards downwards downwards to our accommodation near the river.
The river has a beautiful display of olden Europe with old boats and port barrels lined up against piers. In true Porto style, we spent the evening wandering street markets, listening to live music, eating local sea food and tasting port!
It’s an early night tonight, ready to start our adventure tomorrow….
